of <h1>India Amends GST Tax Rate: New Entry for Corduroy Fabrics Under Notification No. 29/2017 Effective September 22, 2017.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 29/2017, amending the earlier Notification No. 5/2017-Integrated Tax (Rate) dated June 28, 2017. This amendment, effective from September 22, 2017, introduces an addition to the existing tax rate table under the Integrated Goods and Services Tax Act. Specifically, it adds a new entry, serial number 6A, for corduroy fabrics with the tariff item 5801. This change reflects the recommendations of the GST Council and is published in the Gazette of India.
