of <h1>2017 Amendment Updates CESTAT Procedures: New Definitions and Document Formatting Rules Implemented u/r 2(f) and Rule 8(2.</h1> The 2017 amendment to the CESTAT (Procedures) Rules, 1982, effective immediately, modifies specific rules under the Customs, Excise, and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal framework. Rule 2(f) now defines a 'certified copy' to include the original order received by a party or a duly authenticated copy by the relevant department or authorized representatives. Rule 8(2) mandates that all appeal documents, including memoranda, cross-objections, and applications, must be typed in double spacing on A4 paper, properly paged, indexed, and organized in separate folders.
