of <h1>Central Government Approves 12.15-Hectare IT/ITES SEZ in Dharwad, Karnataka; Recognized as Inland Container Depot.</h1> The Central Government has designated a 12.15-hectare area in Gamanagatti, Hubli Taluk, Dharwad District, Karnataka, as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for IT/ITES, proposed by the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board. This notification follows the fulfillment of requirements under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, and grants approval for the development and operation of the SEZ. An Approval Committee has been constituted, comprising various government officials and representatives, to oversee the SEZ's operations. Additionally, the SEZ is recognized as an Inland Container Depot effective from May 4, 2017, under the Customs Act, 1962.
