of <h1>Central Government Amends Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002 to Share Information with SIT on Black Money.</h1> The Central Government has amended the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002, to authorize the sharing of information with the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on black money. This amendment, effective from 6 August 2014, adds the SIT to the list of entities with which information can be shared under the Act. The SIT was constituted by the Government of India on 29 May 2014, as published in the Gazette of India. This move is deemed necessary in the public interest to enhance efforts against money laundering and black money.
