of <h1>Retired Supreme Court Judge Appointed as NCLAT Chairperson Under Companies Act Section 410, Serving Five-Year Term.</h1> The Central Government has appointed a retired Supreme Court Judge as the Chairperson of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal. This appointment, effective from June 1, 2016, is made under the authority of Section 410 of the Companies Act, 2013. The appointed Chairperson will receive a fixed pay scale of Rs. 90,000 and will serve for five years or until reaching the age of seventy, whichever comes first. The notification was issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on July 6, 2016.
