of <h1>Central Government Doubles Corpus Fund for Gandhigram Trust Project in Tamil Nadu; Tax Deduction u/s 35AC Approved.</h1> The Central Government has amended a previous notification to enhance the corpus fund for the project 'Sustainability and building corpus fund for children's home/hospital/educational Institutions of Gandhigram Trust' in Tamil Nadu. Initially notified in 2008 and extended in subsequent years, the project's corpus fund is increased from Rs. 50 lakh to Rs. 100 lakh, while maintaining the approved project cost at Rs. 100 lakh. This decision follows a recommendation by the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare, confirming the project's proper execution. The amendment allows the increased corpus fund to be deducted under section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961.
