of <h1>Central Government appoints Bombay Customs officials to oversee warehouses in Thana and Manpada per Customs Act, 1962.</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, has appointed the Commissioner of Customs in Bombay as the Principal Commissioner or Commissioner of Customs. Additionally, the Assistant Commissioner or Deputy Commissioner of Customs in Bombay is designated for overseeing all warehouses located in the Warehousing Station of Thana and Manpada. These appointments are specified in Notification No. 172, dated 13 July 1963, with subsequent changes to designations made by the Finance Act, 1995, and further amendments in 1999 and 2014.
