Officers as Customs Officers at Tripura-Bangladesh Border under Customs Act, 1962</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, has appointed officers and personnel from the Uttar Pradesh P.A.C., stationed at the Tripura, East Pakistan Border (now Bangladesh Border), as Officers of Customs. The appointed positions include Commandant, Deputy Commandant, Assistant Commandant, Adjutant, Quarter Master, Subedar (Company Commander), Jamadar (Platoon Commander), and Head Constables. These appointments fall under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Customs in Shillong. The designation of the Commissioner was updated by the Finance Act, 1995, and subsequent notification in 1999.
