of <h1>India Extends Service Tax Deadline for Puducherry (Excluding Yanam & Mahe) to December 20, 2015, Amending Rule 6.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has extended the deadline for Service Tax payment for assessees in the Union Territory of Puducherry, excluding Yanam and Mahe, for November 2015. The new deadline is set for December 20, 2015. This amendment to the Service Tax Rules, 1994, is enacted under the powers granted by the Finance Act, 1994, and is effective upon its publication in the Official Gazette. The amendment modifies rule 6, sub-rule (1), of the Service Tax Rules to include the Union Territory of Puducherry alongside the State of Tamil Nadu.
