Initially recognized in 1997, the project's approval has been renewed multiple times, with the latest extension covering the financial years 2015-16 to 2017-18. The project maintains an approved cost of Rs. 4.00 crore, including a Rs. 2.00 crore corpus fund, following a recommendation from the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare.
