of <h1>Amendment to 2000 Rules: Customs and Excise Officials Can Now Contribute to Provident Fund Retroactively from May 22, 2000.</h1> The Customs and Central Excise Settlement Commission (Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Chairman, Vice-Chairmen and Members) Amendment Rules, 2002, issued by the Ministry of Finance, amends the 2000 rules. Effective retroactively from May 22, 2000, the amendment substitutes Rule 6, allowing the Chairman, Vice-Chairmen, and Members to contribute to the Contributory Provident Fund under the 1962 rules, subject to conditions applicable to non-pensionable Central Government servants.
