<h1>India Withdraws Duty-Free Import Scheme for Raw Sugar: Foreign Trade Policy Amendment Para 4.25(c) Effective Immediately</h1> The Government of India, through the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, has issued Notification No. 5 / 2015-20, dated May 1, 2015, announcing the withdrawal of the Duty Free Import Authorisation (DFIA) Scheme for the import of raw sugar. This amendment to the Foreign Trade Policy 2015-2020, specifically in Para 4.25, sub-para (c), states that the DFIA Scheme will no longer apply to raw sugar imports. This change is effective immediately, as per the powers granted under the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992.
