of <h1>Central Government Extends 'A Caring Hand' Project's Tax Deduction Eligibility Under Section 35AC Until 2017</h1> The Central Government has extended the eligibility of the project 'A Caring Hand' by Navjeevan Charitable Trust in Mumbai under Section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. Initially approved for three years starting in the financial year 2011-12 with an estimated cost of 15.34 crore, the project is now extended for an additional three years from 2014-15 to 2016-17. The maximum allowable cost for deduction has been increased to 24.49 crore. This decision follows the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare's recommendation, acknowledging the project's proper execution.
