This project involves the construction and modernization of a hospital, acquisition of medical equipment, and the operation of mobile health clinics. Initially recognized in 1997, the project has been periodically extended, with the latest extension covering the financial years 2014-15 to 2016-17. The estimated project cost has been increased from 906 lakh to 1600.63 lakh, including a corpus fund of 186 lakh. The extension follows a recommendation by the National Committee for the Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare.
