<h1>India Updates Customs Exemptions for Airborne Early Warning and Control Systems Under Notification 39/96-Customs, Entry S.No. 31B</h1> The Government of India has amended Notification No. 39/96-Customs to include a new entry, S.No. 31B, which provides customs exemptions for goods related to the Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) System Programme of the Ministry of Defence. The exemptions cover aircraft, parts, radars, electronic components, machinery, computer hardware and software, among others, when imported by authorized centers designated by the Ministry of Defence. The exemption is valid until January 1, 2016, and requires certification from the Programme Director, AEW&C, confirming the goods are necessary and authorized for the AEW&C Programme.
