of <h1>India Amends Customs Notification: New Exemptions for Defense Goods Including Navy, Coast Guard Equipment Effective June 2015</h1> The Government of India has issued Notification No. 29/2015-Customs to amend Notification No. 39/96-Customs, dated July 23, 1996. The amendments include changes to the exemption conditions for certain goods, specifically those related to the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, and defense services. New entries have been added to the exemption list for machinery, equipment, aircraft parts, military stores, and guided weapons, among others. These goods must be imported by authorized persons or contractors and accompanied by a duty exemption certificate. The notification will take effect from June 1, 2015.
