Charitable Eye Hospital Project in Jharkhand Extended Under Section 35AC for Three More Years to Aid Economically Disadvantaged

The Central Government has extended the eligibility of a charitable eye hospital project in Jharkhand under Section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. Initially approved for three years ending in the 2013-14 financial year, the project provides free medical treatment and surgeries for economically weaker sections. The National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare has recommended extending the project for another three years, covering 2014-15 to 2016-17, with no change in the estimated cost of 2.55 crore. The project is executed by an organization in Bokaro, Jharkhand.
