Central Government Extends Karuna Trust's Healthcare Project in Gujarat Under Section 35AC, Increases Budget to 200 Lakh.

The Central Government has extended the eligibility of the Karuna Trust's project, which includes conducting eye and polio operation camps, oxygen cylinder services, and ambulance services across Gujarat, as an eligible project under Section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. Initially notified in 1996, the project has been periodically extended, with the latest extension covering the financial years 2013-14 to 2015-16. The project's estimated cost has been increased from 153 lakh to 200 lakh, following recommendations from the National Committee for the Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare.
