Initially approved in 2007 and extended multiple times, the project's cost was increased from Rs. 160 crore, including a corpus fund of Rs. 60 crore, to Rs. 360 crore, including a corpus fund of Rs. 110 crore. This decision follows recommendations from the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare, confirming the project's proper execution and justifying the cost enhancement to support 500 primary schools and non-formal education initiatives.
