of <h1>Indian Red Cross Society's Gujarat Projects Gain 3-Year Tax Benefit Extension Under Section 35AC, Funding Increased Significantly.</h1> The Central Government has extended the eligibility of certain projects by the Indian Red Cross Society, Gujarat State Branch, under Section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. These projects include Thalassemia Screening, Disaster Management, Mobile Medicare, and others. Initially notified in 2009 and extended in 2011, the project period is further extended for three years starting from the financial year 2014-15. The estimated project cost has been increased from 13.55 crore to 41.82 crore, with a corpus fund of 50 lakh, as recommended by the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare.
