of <h1>Government Extends Funding for Ahmedabad Rehabilitation Project for Blind and Disabled to Rs. 18.50 Crore Until 2016-17.</h1> The Central Government has extended the approval for the project 'Comprehensive rehabilitation, medical & human resource development services for the blind and disabled' by an organization in Ahmedabad. Initially approved in 2005 with a budget of Rs. 2.50 crore, the project cost was subsequently increased to Rs. 6.00 crore and then to Rs. 11.00 crore. The latest extension, recommended by the National Committee for the Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare, further increases the budget to Rs. 18.50 crore and extends the project for an additional three years, covering the financial years 2014-15 to 2016-17.
