of <h1>India Revises Excise Duty Rates on Select Items, Effective Jan 2, 2015, via Notification No. 1/2015-Central Excise.</h1> The Government of India has issued Notification No. 1/2015-Central Excise to amend Notification No. 12/2012-Central Excise. Effective from January 2, 2015, the amendments revise the excise duty rates for certain items. Specifically, for serial number 70, the rates are changed to 6.95 and 8.10 per litre for items (i) and (ii), respectively. For serial number 71, the rates are adjusted to 5.96 and 8.25 per litre for items (i) and (ii), respectively. These changes are made under the authority of the Central Excise Act, 1944, in the interest of public welfare.
