This duty, initially set by a 2011 notification, has been revised following a mid-term review initiated in 2013. The review concluded that the duty should continue at modified rates to prevent dumping, which could harm domestic industry. The duty applies to Sodium Nitrite under tariff item 28341010, with a rate of 135.83 USD per metric tonne. This notification is effective until August 16, 2017, unless revoked earlier, and payments are to be made in Indian currency.
