of <h1>India Updates Customs Rules: Changes to Exemptions for Tech Products in Chapters 38, 84, 85, and 90</h1> The Government of India has issued amendments to the Customs notification No. 24/2005, dated March 1, 2005, under notification No. 11/2014-Customs. These amendments modify exemptions for specific goods under Chapters 38, 84, 85, and 90. The changes include exclusions for goods such as soft switches, VoIP equipment, optical transport equipment, Carrier Ethernet Switches, and MIMO and LTE products. Additionally, a new entry allows exemptions for goods used in manufacturing these specified items, provided the importer complies with the Customs Rules for concessional duty on excisable goods.
