of <h1>Indian Government Approves Copper SEZ in Tamil Nadu; Designated as Inland Container Depot Under Customs Act</h1> The Central Government has approved the establishment of a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for copper in Village Therkku Veerapandiapuram, Taluka Ottapidaram, District Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, proposed by a company. The approval, granted under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, includes development, operation, and maintenance of the SEZ, covering an area of 128.805 hectares. An Approval Committee has been constituted with various government officials and a developer representative. The SEZ is designated as an Inland Container Depot effective from May 3, 2013, under the Customs Act, 1962.
