<h1>Government Approves IT Special Economic Zone in Gurgaon; SEZ to Cover 26.56 Hectares with Inland Depot Status</h1> The Central Government has approved the establishment of a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for information technology and IT-enabled services in Village-Bans Hariya, District-Gurgaon, Haryana, proposed by a private organization. The approval, under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, includes the development, operation, and maintenance of the SEZ, covering an area of 26.56019 hectares. An Approval Committee, comprising various government officials and representatives, has been constituted to oversee the SEZ. Additionally, the SEZ is designated as an inland Container Depot effective from March 1, 2011, under the Customs Act, 1962.
