of <h1>Central Government Approves New SEZ in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu for IT Hardware Manufacturing and Development Activities.</h1> The Central Government has designated an area in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for the manufacture of information technology hardware. This notification follows the approval granted to a private company for establishing the SEZ to produce and assemble electronics, telecommunications, and IT hardware, including mobile phones and related components. The SEZ will also support software development, research, and development activities. The specified area covers various survey numbers totaling 85.375 hectares (210.87 acres). Some parts of this area were de-notified in June 2020 and December 2022 as per subsequent notifications.
