of <h1>Tamil Nadu Villages Designated as SEZ for Nokia's Electronics and IT Hub under SEZ Act, 2005</h1> The Central Government has designated specific areas within the villages of Sriperumbudur and Pondur in Tamil Nadu as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ). This notification, dated July 19, 2006, supersedes previous notifications and is issued under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005. The SEZ is approved for M/s. Nokia India Pvt. Ltd to establish facilities for manufacturing and assembling electronic telecommunications and IT hardware, including mobile phones and related components, as well as software development and research activities. The total area notified for the SEZ spans 85.37 hectares across various survey numbers in the specified villages.
