Government Extends Deaf-Blind Rehabilitation Scheme in India for Three More Years; No Section 35AC Certificates for 2010-12.
The Central Government has extended the eligibility of the scheme for comprehensive rehabilitation services for the deaf-blind across India, managed by an organization based in Ahmedabad, for an additional three years starting from the financial year 2010-11. This decision follows recommendations from the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare, acknowledging the project's proper execution. The approved project cost remains at Rs. 2.00 crore. However, as the financial years 2010-11 and 2011-12 have already passed, no certificates under section 35AC will be issued for these years.
