Initially approved for three years starting in the 2009-10 financial year, the project's cost was increased from Rs. 1.55 crore to Rs. 2.32 crore in 2011. Following recommendations from the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare, the project is now extended for another three years from 2012-13 to 2014-15, with the cost further enhanced to Rs. 4.82 crore, including an additional Rs. 2.5 crore as a corpus fund.
