Government Revises 2009-2010 Duty Drawback Rates; Trade Bodies Must Submit Export Cost Data by August 21, 2009.
The government is revising the All Industry Rates of Duty Drawback for 2009-2010, which refunds duties and taxes on inputs used in export goods. Trade associations and export councils are requested to submit comprehensive cost and consumption data for various inputs and services used in manufacturing export products. The data should cover at least five units per product, representing small, medium, and large exporters, and be supported by relevant documents. Anomalies in the Drawback Schedule should also be reported. A three-member committee has been formed to oversee the formulation of these rates, and submissions are due by August 21, 2009.
