<h1>Customs and Excise Revenue Rise in July 2007: Customs Up 16.8%, Excise Up 2.1%, Service Tax Soars 32.2.</h1> Provisional data for July 2007 indicates a significant increase in Customs and Central Excise revenue collections compared to July 2006. Customs revenue grew by 16.8% for the month, reaching Rs 8,253 crore, while Excise revenue rose by 2.1% to Rs 9,388 crore. Overall, the total revenue from Customs and Excise duties increased by 8.5% to Rs 17,641 crore. Additionally, Service Tax revenue up to June 2007 showed a 32.2% increase, amounting to Rs 4,093 crore. The cumulative growth for Customs, Excise, and Service Tax up to June 2007 was 37.9%.
