New Delhi, Jul 22 (PTI) Lok Sabha on Wednesday extended the deadline till the end of the ongoing Monsoon Session for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to submit its report on the proposed amendments to the corporate laws.
The time has been extended for the "presentation of the Report of the Joint Committee on the 'Corporate Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026' till the last day of the Monsoon Session, 2026".
The motion in this regard was approved by the Lower House with a voice vote on Wednesday.
The Monsoon Session is scheduled to conclude on August 13.
The committee, headed by BJP member Sudheer Gupta, is examining the bill which seeks to amend the Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) Act, 2008, and the Companies Act to facilitate ease of doing business, decriminalise minor procedural defaults and modernise the country's corporate governance architecture.
On March 23, Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman introduced the bill in the Lok Sabha, which was then referred to the committee. PTI RAM RHL
