<h1>Allocation of displaced medical students to supernumerary seats in Jammu and Kashmir: fresh counselling scheduled and seats to be merit-allocated</h1> Revocation of permission for a medical college led to relocation of 50 admitted students; the regulator withdrew institutional recognition for non-compliance and directed accommodation of affected students as supernumerary seats. The admission authority initially declined fresh counselling as outside its mandate under the national counselling schedule, stating creation and allotment of supernumerary seats is a government responsibility in consultation with the national medical regulator and colleges. The union territory administration arranged a BOPEE-conducted physical counselling to allocate the supernumerary seats by NEET-UG merit and candidate preference and authorised representation by blood relatives with valid ID.
