Solar manufacturer secures ?600 crore IPP module order, expands to 3 GW capacity and plans integrated cell-battery facilities
A solar manufacturer has entered the Independent Power Producer (IPP) market by securing a solar module supply order worth about INR 600 crore from a large manufacturing buyer, signalling a move into utility-scale projects. The contract value is subject to adjustment due to a reduction in GST on renewable energy equipment from 12% to 5%, applicable to a purchase order issued in June 2025. The manufacturer has rapidly expanded capacity to a 3 GW module facility, with most capacity on or seeking inclusion in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers. It has also obtained 60 acres of state-allotted land for a 4 GW cell plant and signed an MoU to establish a 2 GW battery line, marking vertical integration across solar and storage.
