<h1>Four Labour Codes Replace 29 Laws, Simplifying Wages, Social Security, Industrial Relations and Occupational Safety Framework</h1> Government has brought into force four consolidated labour codes-the Code on Wages, 2019, the Industrial Relations Code, 2020, the Code on Social Security, 2020, and the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020-thereby replacing and rationalising 29 central labour laws with immediate effect. These codes now constitute the principal legal framework governing wages, industrial relations, social security, and occupational safety and health. The reform aims to modernise and simplify previously fragmented and outdated legislation, align labour regulation with contemporary economic and work conditions, and strengthen worker welfare while supporting industrial resilience and ease of compliance.
