        Central tax devolution formula updated for 2026-31; report sets allocation, grants and disaster financing recommendations. The 16th Finance Commission recommended the allocation of states' shares in the net proceeds of central taxes for 2026-31, to be tabled in Parliament and published; its mandate required recommendations on distribution between the Union and States, intra state allocation, grants in aid, and financing arrangements for Disaster Management. The report follows detailed fiscal analysis and wide consultations and is presented in two volumes, with operative recommendations in Volume I and annexures in Volume II.
