        <h1>Finance Ministry Pushes State Governments to Release Funds for Rs.926.79 Crore in Delayed Agricultural Insurance Claims.</h1> The Ministry of Finance is addressing delays in disbursing insurance claims under the National Agricultural Insurance Scheme, with outstanding claims totaling Rs.926.79 crore as of September 15, 2008. The amount is to be distributed among the Agricultural Insurance Corporation (AIC), the Government of India, and State Governments. While the AIC and Government of India have their shares ready, disbursement is stalled due to pending contributions from State Governments. The Finance Minister plans to urge State Chief Ministers to provide their shares promptly to ensure timely payments to farmers.
