Global electronics manufacturer and energy storage developer partner on multi-year program to commercialize sulfur-based cathode active material for pouch cells
A global electronics manufacturer and an energy storage developer entered a full, multi-year collaboration to develop and commercialise sulfur-based cathode active material (CAM) for large-format pouch cells. The agreement contemplates joint prototype development, integration of CAM into the manufacturer's pilot production lines, evaluation across applications to de-risk high-power, long-life cells, and CAM supply revenue to the developer. Laboratory-scale material production will commence with pouch cell prototyping at the manufacturer's plant in Japan, targeting qualification of manufacturing prototype lines within 12 months.
