Zubeen death protests saw mobs clash with police, vehicles torched and prohibitory orders plus internet suspension imposed.
An agitated crowd attacked and set ablaze vehicles as five accused in Zubeen Garg's death were brought to Baksa District Jail; police used lathi-charge and teargas and announced an inquiry into injuries and property damage. Prohibitory orders under Section 163 of BNSS bar assemblies of five or more persons and various public demonstrations and the carrying of weapons within 500 metres of the jail. The state suspended internet and mobile data across Baksa district while keeping voice calls and fixed broadband active; the five accused were remanded to judicial custody and moved to Baksa Jail.
