<h1>Government launches Rs 35,440 crore agricultural package: Rs 24,000 crore district transformation and Rs 11,440 crore pulses mission</h1> The government launched two agricultural schemes totaling Rs 35,440 crore-a Rs 24,000-crore district-focused transformation programme for 100 low-performing districts and an Rs 11,440-crore mission to achieve self-reliance in pulses-aiming to boost productivity, diversify crops, improve irrigation, storage and credit access, and raise pulses production from 252.38 lakh tonnes to 350 lakh tonnes by 2030-31 with an additional 35 lakh hectares of acreage. It also inaugurated projects worth over Rs 5,450 crore and laid foundations for projects around Rs 815 crore, and criticized the prior administration's handling of the farm sector.
