Pilots' association urges grounding of all domestic Boeing 787s, electrical inspections, MEL reviews and regulator special audit
A pilots' association urged the civil aviation ministry to ground all Boeing 787s operated domestically, inspect their electrical systems and order a regulatory special audit of the national carrier after two recent in-flight incidents involving 787s, including deployment of a Ram Air Turbine and an autopilot/ILS/flight director failure that forced a diversion. The group cited a prior fatal 787 crash in June, requested review of Minimum Equipment List releases and repetitive snags, and sought comprehensive investigations and corrective measures by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to address alleged systemic safety and maintenance failures.
