New business, international demand and employment expanded at slower rates, while inflation and charges rose at their slowest pace since March. Composite private-sector output also moderated to 61.0. Firms reported improved six-month outlooks citing advertising, efficiency, competitive pricing and tax cuts as tailwinds. The PMI is compiled from responses by roughly 400 services firms.
