Government allows shops, hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues to operate 24 hours, excluding liquor outlets; mandates weekly 24-hour staff rest
The state issued a government resolution permitting shops and commercial establishments, including hotels, restaurants, eateries, theatres and places of public entertainment, to operate 24 hours statewide while expressly excluding establishments involved in the sale or supply of liquor (wine shops, beer bars, dance bars, hookah parlours, discotheques, permit rooms and similar excise-licensed outlets). The GR requires every employee to receive a continuous weekly rest period of at least 24 hours and directs local administrations and police to enforce the provisions; existing time restrictions on liquor-selling establishments remain in place. An opposition representative challenged the necessity of the GR, while an industry association welcomed the move.
