<h1>Food safety campaign inspects 1,594+ establishments, finds 513 compliant, 26 substandard, 11 unsafe; 1,815 samples pending</h1> The state Food and Drug Administration has launched a statewide inspection drive under a festive-season food safety campaign, inspecting over 1,594 establishments and collecting 2,369 samples of milk, khoya, ghee, edible oil, sweets, dry fruits and chocolates; of 554 tested samples, 513 met standards, 26 were substandard, four had labelling defects and 11 were unsafe, with results for 1,815 samples pending. Recruitment for more than 200 food-safety posts has been completed since 2022, proposals for 750 new posts and 250 additional staff and new testing laboratories are pending finance approval, and funds have been sanctioned to strengthen laboratory infrastructure and vaccine and antivenom production.
