<h1>High-level panel approves Rs 4,645.60 crore disaster mitigation and recovery projects across nine states, wetlands and urban flood management</h1> A high-level committee approved mitigation, recovery and reconstruction projects across nine states with a total outlay of Rs 4,645.60 crore funded from the National Disaster Mitigation Fund and related sources. Key approvals include Rs 692.05 crore for restoration and rejuvenation of 24 wetlands in Assam (Central share 75%), an Urban Flood Risk Management Programme Phase-2 for 11 cities with Rs 2,444.42 crore (Centre 90%, states 10%), and a dedicated Rs 200 crore flood-mitigation package for Guwahati (Central share Rs 180 crore). Additional recovery grants include Rs 1,270.79 crore for Assam and Rs 260.56 crore for Kerala; earlier approvals and SDRF/NDRF releases were also noted.
