Appeal allowed in Rs 1.9 crore corporate fraud; bail quashed, accused to surrender within two weeks; officers ordered training
The Supreme Court allowed an appeal by a corporate complainant in an alleged Rs 1.9 crore fraud, quashed earlier bail orders granted by a magistrate and upheld by a sessions judge and directed the accused to surrender within two weeks. The bench found 'serious lapses' in the magistrate's bail reasoning and ordered the two judicial officers to undergo seven days' mandatory training at the Delhi Judicial Academy, asked the Delhi High Court to arrange such training, and directed the ACMM to expedite the trial. The Court also directed the Police Commissioner to investigate the conduct of investigating officers and take appropriate action.
