<h1>Healthcare capacity building through scholarships and training to strengthen cardiovascular and diabetes prevention and care.</h1> Merck Foundation, partnering with First Ladies, health ministries and medical societies, has awarded scholarships for one year postgraduate diplomas, two year master degrees, and one year clinical fellowships in Preventative Cardiovascular Medicine, Cardiology, Diabetes, Endocrinology, Clinical Nutrition, and Obesity & Weight Management to doctors across multiple countries, and is simultaneously implementing multilingual training courses and community awareness initiatives-including children's storybooks, animation films, and a pan African TV program-to promote prevention, early detection, and management of hypertension and diabetes.
