<h1>Government launches automated cashew processing, MAGNET Phase II tech upgrade, 125,000 MT warehouse approvals and subsidy</h1> The state government will establish a fully automated cashew processing plant in Konkan and implement the ADB-supported agricultural value-chain project (MAGNET) more robustly, including a technology-driven Phase II. Approvals were granted for warehouses totaling 125,000 MT capacity eligible for 50% subsidy. Policy measures require proposals for common cashew apple juice centres, district modern processing hubs, and financial aid for wet nut units under the Cashew Fruit Processing Development Scheme 2023, plus modernisation on an international model. Plans emphasise cold-chain expansion, private investment in horticulture value chains, FPO strengthening, regional labs and export-standard infrastructure.
