<h1>Five booked for using live electric wires to kill wild boar in sanctuary; charged under Wildlife Protection Act, 1972</h1> Five individuals were booked for allegedly hunting a wild boar using live electric wires in a protected sanctuary area; a forest team recovered about eight kilograms of meat, hide, hair, blood traces, two motorcycles, a weighing scale and weapons. A case was registered under various sections of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972; the accused admitted the offence before forest authorities and were fined Rs 3 lakh. Authorities warned of strict enforcement, including possible jail terms, against use of electric wires, traps or other illegal hunting methods.
